Sales Lead
4 Sept 2025
About the role
Sable Bio is tackling one of the hardest and most important problems in drug development: helping scientists anticipate safety issues with drug targets, before clinical trials begin. Our platform is a step-change in how this process works, using AI and other tools to automate and streamline the process of identifying and quantifying safety risks, to bring meaningful, actionable insights to users in minutes instead of days. Our target safety intelligence platform is already in use at top pharma and biotech companies to bring safer medicines to patients faster.
We’re now hiring our first full-time commercial lead. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast-growing, high-tech startup as the first dedicated sales hire, with real ownership over pipeline development, customer engagement, and revenue growth. You’ll work closely with the leadership team and technical founders to scale our commercial function.
What you’ll take on
As our Sales Lead, you’ll be a key representative of Sable Bio to prospective customers. You’ll play a key role in identifying, engaging, and converting high-value accounts by building deep, trust-based relationships where customers see you as a partner for helping them solve their critical challenges. You’ll be compensated on success, with the opportunity to double your base salary through commission, plus upside from equity as we scale.
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for our target safety platform
Identify opportunities and strategies for priority market segments
Refine target personas and decision-maker profiles across pharmaceutical and biotech sectors
Manage and forecast a highly active sales pipeline
Generate and manage £1-1.5M in annual business pipeline in the first year
Meet with clients face-to-face to build relationships and close deals, including through international travel
Collaborate with the wider team to divide territory effectively between new business development and existing account management
Develop our marketing approaches to develop broader outreach and lead generation campaigns, including event strategy
Establish quarterly and annual sales targets and consistently achieve them
Digest and communicate customer feedback with the technical team
As the first dedicated sales hire, you will have opportunity to grow into a leadership role as we scale. We’re looking for someone early in their commercial journey who’s brilliant at building relationships, eager to learn, and hungry to make an impact. You’ll work directly with the founding team, own meaningful sales conversations from day one, and grow alongside the business.
