Sable Bio, the intelligence platform for target safety assessment, today announced a commercial partnership with Matador Japan, specialists in bringing overseas life sciences and pharmaceutical software to the Japanese market. Under the agreement, Matador will act as Sable’s commercial partner in Japan, leading sales, marketing, and customer engagement with Japanese pharmaceutical and biotech organisations.
Japan is home to a highly sophisticated pharmaceutical R&D ecosystem, with deep expertise in areas including target immunotherapy, oncology and neurology. Yet safety scientists at Japanese organisations face the same fundamental challenge as their global counterparts: safety-relevant data is scattered across dozens of sources, and bringing it together into a coherent assessment can take days per target.
Sable’s platform addresses this directly. By consolidating genomic, experimental, animal model, clinical trial, and literature data into a structured, evidence-based assessment- available in minutes- Sable enables preclinical safety teams to move faster without sacrificing rigour. The platform’s collaborative tools, audit trail, and live data updates make it equally suited to ongoing project toxicology as it is to first-in-class target evaluation.
Matador brings an established track record of introducing international life sciences technology to Japanese pharmaceutical companies, with deep relationships across the sector and a proven model for local adoption of specialised software platforms.
“We are really excited to work with the Matador team. Pairing our platform with their market insights will allow us to provide Japanese safety scientists with the centralised intelligence they need to make critical decisions with greater speed and confidence”
Josh Almond-Thynne, Sable, CEO
“Sable Bio offers Japanese R&D teams a more efficient, scalable and cost-effective approach to target safety assessment. By moving beyond point-in-time assessments to provide an always-on view of evolving evidence, the platform supports faster evaluation, stronger decision-making, and greater confidence in early drug discovery. We believe this will bring meaningful value to customers in Japan.”
John Bolger, Matador Japan KK, CEO
The partnership reflects Sable's commitment to making rigorous, systematic target safety assessment accessible to drug discovery organisations across the globe- and Matador’s mission to ensure the Japanese pharmaceutical sector has access to the most relevant international innovations.
